Manchester United enter talks with Sergio Romero over signing a three-year deal

Argentina goalkeeper Sergio Romero is discussing a three-year contract with Manchester United and hopes to finalise terms this week. The 28-year-old had been talking to Roma but appears set on a move to Old Trafford. Romero, a free agent after leaving Sampdoria in the summer, was part of Argentina’s Copa America squad, where he played in every game including the final which Gerardo Martino’s side lost on penalties to Chile. Meanwhile, Seattle Sounders have shown an interest in United keeper Victor Valdes. Valdes looks set to leave the Red Devils this summer after not travelling with the squad on their pre-season tour of America. He was an option for Valencia but his terms were deemed too expensive by the La Liga outfit
