Buhari Sacks Ado Bayero 14 Weeks After Jonathan Appointed Him, Reinstates Former MD

PresidentMuhammadu Buharihas terminated the appointment of the Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA),Sanusi Ado Bayeroafter former presidentGoodluck Jonathanappointed him 14 weeks ago in what appears a reversal of his predecessor’s action. The termination of Mr. Bayero’s appointment is with immediate effect, a statement byFemi Adesina,the special adviser on media and publicity to the President, said. “He is to hand over the management of the NPA and all government property in his possession to Habibu Abdullahi who has been reinstated as Managing Director of the NPA by President Buhari,” Mr. Adesina said. President Buhari wishes Alhaji Bayero well in his future endeavors, the statement added.
