Di Maria passes Paris Saint-Germain medical

The Argentine's protracted move from Manchester United is nearing completion, with the former Real Madrid man completing a medical assessment in Doha Angel Di Maria has passed a medical with Paris Saint-Germain ahead of his projected move from Manchester United. The Argentine midfielder arrived in Doha on Monday, but reports in France claimed Di Maria was too tired to partake in an examination immediately following his transatlantic flight from his native country. However, he arrived at the Aspetar hospital in the city on Tuesday to complete the assessment, with his estimated €60 million (£44.5m) transfer set to be ratified before the club's opening Ligue 1 fixture at Lille on Friday. Di Maria arrived at Manchester United in a British-record £59.7m deal in August 2014, but he failed to settle in England and started only 20 league matches in his first season at Old Trafford. After a delayed summer break following his spell at the Copa America with Argentina, the 27-year-old failed to report back for United's pre-season tour of the USA on July 25 as planned. United boss Louis van Gaal admitted at the time that he had no idea where Di Maria was, while links to PSG were later admitted by the French champions' boss Laurent Blanc
