The Federal Government has reverted its decision to upgrade some colleges of education to universities of education. It would be recalled that the Federal Government had earlier approved the upgrade of Federal College of Education, Kano; Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo; Federal College of Education, Zaria; and Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education, Owerri to universities of education. Consequently the provosts of the affected institutions have been directed to resume in their offices immediately. Responding to this, the Provost of the Provost, Federal College of Education, Kano, Dr. Rabi Jubrila Muhammed, debunked the rumour that this reversal was influenced by the provost if the institutions mentioned, saying it was not possible four for provision to influence the decision of Meanwhile, the members of Academic Staff Union of the FCE, Kano, are planning to embark on a one-week warning strike to express their dissatisfaction over the issue
