Ronaldo: Difficult Champions League draw for Real Madrid

Los Blancos will face Paris Saint-Germain, Shakhtar Donetsk and Malmo but the Portuguese ace is optimistic about his side's hopes of going all the way Cristiano Ronaldosays that Real Madrid'starget is to win the Champions League - despite being handed a "difficult" draw for the group stage of this year's competition. Los Blancos were placed in the same pool as Ligue 1 titleholders Paris Saint-Germain, Ukrainian Premier League runners-up Shakhtar Donetsk and Swedish champions Malmo in Friday's draw in Monaco, as they bid to win the trophy for an 11th time. "More or less the goal remains the same as last year and always," said Ronaldo. "We know that the group stage will be difficult but we will try to pass and win the competition. We'll see what happens." Madrid were crowned champions of Europe in 2014, beating city rivals Atletico in the final in Lisbon, but were unable to retain the trophy last season as they were upset by Juventus in the semi-finals. Ronaldo, meanwhile, failed to win Uefa's Best Player in Europe award for last season, with Messi collecting the accolade after playing a key role in Barcelona's 2014-15 triumph.
