Read Here... Why You Should Not Compare Linda Ikeji And Seun Osewa

I came across this post on Nairaland but we decided to feature it on www.vibezloaded.com because it's quite interesting.

Over time, I have observed people directly or indirectly trying to compare Linda Ifeoma Ikeji and Oluwaseun Osewa.

Many spark off debates in different web places and others will quickly take sides. Some take sides based on tribal sentiments; others do because they are die-hard fans of one or both of them.

Seun Osewa is a fine young man (I think under 30 years), Western Nigerian decent, tech guru, and owner of a powerful and influential forum – Nairaland that is ranked No.8 in Nigeria. One of its kind in the continent handling millions of visitors.

On the other hand, Linda Ikeji is a 34-year old (averagely beautiful) lady, a failed model (according to Tonto Dike), Eastern Nigerian decent, and owner of a continental front-line blog – Linda Ikeji Blog (LIB) that is ranked No.10 in Nigeria. It also controls millions of followers.

At one time when Linda built/bought a house for (I think) parents, people started comparing their wealth and some started pressuring Seun to make frantic effort in order to increase his revenue through adverts.

Many fans called on Seun to start giving out cash prizes when Linda did her monthly LIB give away (she is still doing so).

At the time Linda bought some expensive car, another debate sparked off on who is richer.

Anything that happens to LIB some people will quickly (often ‘amebo-ishly’) come to report on Nairaland.

Now that Linda Ikeji is recruiting, one person created a thread on Nairaland calling on Seun to do recruitment. Funny! (such a person didn’t even know that Nairaland has many staff already).
And so on . . . .

Whatever the case, I think these are the top reasons why we should not, at any slight opportunity, start making comparison between the two fine fellows.

1. Nairaland is a forum and LIB is a blog. The two are not of the same category and will never be.

2. Linda Ikeji is flashier and flaunts wealth and some personal life. This increases emotions in her fans; making some to love her deeper and others to hate her even more.

But Seun is sort of a nerd, or will I say geeky person who hardly reveals status or achievements to public. He is just him and fine with himself. He is an entrepreneur though and apparently more intelligent than Linda.

3. The both of them do not compete (even though their pages may be competing for followers), neither do they compare themselves. They are just two persons that are working hard to be better.

4. They have different vision and mission statements for their web platforms.

5. We should not compare them because each time we do, we simply incite tribal/biased division and many who argue in the debate do not understand and are clueless.

6. They have their fans and are also richer than most of us who sit in their forum/blog making arguments.

But most importantly, you should not compare Linda Ikeji and Seun Osewa because Linda is a lady and Seun is a man. They are just different and cannot be compared.

England May Bar Nigeria Stars If Eagles Drop further In FIFA Rankings

Nigeria stars will be barred from securing a work permit to play in England should the Super Eagles now slip outside the top 70 teams in the FIFA Rankings.

The latest FIFA ratings have the Eagles at 70th in the world and according to experts, Nigeria players will be hardest hit should the team fall outside this ranking as one of the rules states work permit will only be considered for non-European players whose countries are within the top 70 in the world.

“If they (Nigeria) slip one more place, its players can’t play in England,” said African football expert Tunde Adelakun.

“Work permit laws for non-European players say the player’s country has to be in top 70 in the world.”
An immediate casualty of this could be Nigeria U20 skipper Kelechi Nwakali, who is set to soon sign a professional contract with Arsenal.

Nigeria international Umar Aminu of Turkish club Osmanlispor has also been linked with Premier League side Hull City, while Belgium-based Wilfred Ndidi has been mentioned to join Watford.

Nigeria stars in England include Odion Ighalo, Isaac Success (Watford), Ahmed Musa (Leicester City), Kelechi Iheanacho (Manchester City) and Mikel Obi, Victor Moses (Chelsea).

Wizkid Again??? Read What The Fans Are Saying

Ayo ‘Wizkid’ Balogun, Nigerian singer who is currently at the peak of his career, has been given a rude awakening by his fans on social media.

The fans of the Starboy label boss have advised him to tone down his penchant for smoking cannabis, also known as marijuana.

One fan recently asked him on social media, “must you smoke all the time” while another enjoined him to reduce his intake of “hard drugs” because it’s starting to affect his appearance.

Since he burst into limelight over six years ago, Wizkid has at different times, publicly displayed his love for smoking pot – in the same vein as some of his foreign friends and collaborators, Rihanna and Chris Brown.

Hence, it is common knowledge among his fans that he occasionally indulges in smoking marijuana.

In that vein of acceptance laced with concern, another fan also said, “smoke is drying you out… you need to take a chill or [get] high on something else”.

The artiste, who’s been on the road for the past year, was also urged by a fan “to chill out and rest for few days” while another commentator observed that his smoke intake and/or stress is darkening his skin.

A video of Wizkid’s surfaced on the internet in 2012 – which showed the then 21-year-old freestyling about “smoking weed” on a daily basis while holding between his index and middle finger, a rolled up marijuana.

“Everyday my brother, I’m chilling with my n****s oh yea/ we smoking marijuana all day and we giving thanks to Jah all day/seaside I’m feeling it, lucky supply the kpoli/see my brother we no be holy,” Wizkid sang.

Similarly, in September 2014, Wizkid was reportedly arrested in Kenya for smoking in a non-smoking hotel, Standard Digital News reported.

Wizkid, who was in Kenya to shoot a music video with Victoria Kimani, Del B and Patrick Elis, was lodged in the Nairobi Crown Plaza Hotel.

While checking out of the hotel, he was accused of smoking illegal substances and Kimani reportedly intervened while Wizkid was slammed with a fine of Sh 50,000 ($560).

The artiste’s former manager, Seun Johnson, however, denied such an occurrence, saying, “Nothing of such happened. It is all rumour, rumors keep churning out everyday, it didn’t happen.”

Wizkid has shown off several rolled-up joints in series of Instagram photos over the past few years – most often when he travels abroad.

Much recently, Wizkid was pictured holding what appeared to be yet another rolled up joint while on the set of a video shoot with British/Nigerian rapper, Tinie Tempah, in Santo Domingo, the capital of Dominican Republic.

The singer, who’s working on his debut international album, is yet to respond to the concerns raised by his fans.

2. Dagrin

Promising rapper, Olaitan Olanipekun better known as Dagrin left his family, fans and colleagues devastated when he gave up the ghost on April 22, 2010, 8 days after he was involved in a ghastly car accident in front of Alakara Police Station, off Agege motor road, Mushin, Lagos.

Dagrin left behind a blossoming career and heartbroken parents. A biopic titled Ghetto Dreamz has since been produced to celebrate the Ogun state born rapper. Dagrin was barely 23 at the time of his death.

3. Goldie

Born Susan Oluwabimpe Harvey, Goldie had a budding career and had established herself as one of the buzzing female musicians in Nigeria before she died.

The singer died as a result of complications emerging from a lung failure. She died on February 14, 2013, 8 months before her 30th.

4. Fada U-Turn

Born Olufemi Mayomi, Fada U-Turn is best remembered for his popular reggae inspires songs especially ‘Yetunde’ which rocked the Nigerian music scene in the 90s.

He died on Sunday, November 17, 2013 due to a kidney related disease. Fada U-Turn was buried on the same day in Badagry, Lagos. He’s survived by a wife and 3 kids. He died at the age of 36.

5. MC Loph

His career was on the rise, his song was already becoming a fan favorite across the country but his dream of getting to his peak dwarfed by death. MC Loph died in an auto accident on Benin-Ore expressway on September 14, 2011.

6. Sunny T

Popular Fuji musician, Sunny T also makes the list of entertainers who died before the age of 40. The veteran music act, who made record as the first Igbo man to sing Fuji (which is predominantly a Yoruba genre) died on July 1, 2012.

7. Bisi Komolafe

It was indeed another dim moment for the Nigerian entertainment industry after the death of budding actress, Bisi Komolafe was confirmed.

The pretty actress who was a product of Lagos State University died on December 31, 2012 at the University Teaching Hospital, Ibadan. She died at the age of 27.

8. Muna Obiekwe

The year 2015 was started on sad not for Nigerian entertainment when popular Nollywood actor, Muna Obiekwe lost his battle with Kidney disease. Muna died on Sunday, January 18, 2015. He died at the age of 36.

9. Lukuluku Bantashi

A popular comic actor in the early 90s, Lukuluku died in the mid-90s. He was quite famous among movie revelers. He died before the age of 40.

10. Zara Gretti

Like the others on the list, popular singer, Zara died in her prime after a battle with multiple scesclerosis. Born Margret Oluwatoyin Ejiro Joseph, Zara died at the age of 28.

11. Ireti

Adebimpe Adekola popularly known as Ireti was a popular 90s actress who was the leading female in the Yoruba sector of the Nigerian movie industry. She died on Friday, September 27, 2002. Ireti was in her early 30s.
