Martinez: More new faces needed

Roberto Martinezhas stressed that he is still looking for new recruits for his first team squad ahead of the 2015/16 season. With Tom Cleverleyand Gerard Deulofeuthe only signings so far this summer, many Toffees fans have taken to forums and social media sites to voice thier displeasure at a lack of activity from Martinez and Everton‘s board with regards to new faces at Goodison Park– a fact further underlined by the news that the Blues are the lowest spenders out of the 20 Premier League clubs thus far in this transfer window. “We are looking… the three areas are quite clear” – Martinez And Martinez has reiterated his comments from earlier in the summer transfer window about wanting to add to his existing batch of first team players in a bid to quell the unrest amongst Evertonians, in recent weeks, who believe that the 42 year old was happy with his current crop of stars. “We know we need two to three new players and we are going to make sure we get the right ones,” the Catalan said after Sunday’s 2-1 friendly defeat to Villareal. “We are looking for that area [up front], the number 10 position, and I think we need a centre-half; the three areas are quite clear. “I have been very impressed with some youngsters and I think they are ready to help the first team as well. “I do feel we need to use the full window and try to bring the right people. We have got a clear idea of what we want to do.”
