Rio Ferdinand believes Chelsea will win the league despite Arsenal loss

John Terry holding the Premier League title last season, something Ferdinand predicts a repeat of The former Man Utd defender sees Eden Hazard as the key difference maker for the season ahead Rio Ferdinand has said that Chelsea's defeat in Sunday's Community Shieldis a mere bump in the road on the way to further League title glory this season. "This won't have any bearing on the League," said Ferdinand. "Chelsea will win the Title. They have the best players and they are the most well drilled. They know what their manager wants from them." Despite having previously called for the pre-season Wembley fixture to be replaced by a Premier League All-Stars game, Ferdinand said that it is a prize worth having for today's footballers. [image] Ferdinand sees the Community Shield as a valuable motivational tool for players "Players really care about winning the Community Shield. Imagine you are out on that pitch working hard for 90 minutes and you see the other team going up there to get the trophy, you are p****d off. But this match does not give you an indicator about who wins the league." For Ferdinand, Chelsea's all-round strength and discipline will be too much for their rivals again, particularly given the spark provided by their brilliant wide-man Eden Hazard. "Hazard has got the stardust," said the former England international. "He can turn a game for them when they are not playing well." Ferdinand sees no reason for Chelsea fans to be disheartened after a relatively quiet transfer summer. "Chelsea haven't made big strides in the transfer market but they are happy with the players they have got, as they should be," he said. Hazard's 'stardust' will make the difference for Chelsea, according to Ferdinand It is the busier title contenders who ought to be more concerned, argued Ferdinand. A six-time Community Shield winner with Manchester United, he was cautious about his former club's chances. "Manchester United have made three signings but those guys have to adjust. They have to hit the ground running. Last season they had a bad start, and if they do that again this season the same thing will happen and they'll be out of it." Ferdinand does view Cech as the signing of the summer thus far The former England captain did have some encouraging thoughts for Sunday's victors, though. "Arsenal have made the best signing in the league with Peter Cech," he said. "He is that important. They have a better chance with him in goal." But not, Ferdinand feels, a chance of toppling Chelsea.
