Manchester United legend Van der Sar is back for one last game!

 The most-capped Netherlands international of all time is coming out of retirement to help out his old amateur club, VV Noordwijk, after their regular goalkeeper was injured

Former Manchester United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar is making a comeback at age 45, coming out of retirement to play for his old amateur side VV Noordwijk one more time.

The ex-Netherlands international's last game was the 2011 Champions League final, which United lost 3-1 to Barcelona, but he remains a member of the Dutch club - who have suddenly found themselves in an injury crisis between the sticks.

With regular keeper Mustafa Mare Zine out of action, Noordwijk petitioned the Dutch FA (KNVB) to allow Van der Sar dispensation to play on Saturday against Jodan Boys, which was granted.


"He stll thinks warmly of the club and is here regularly," said Pieter Vink, technical director at Noordwijk, to Voetbal in de Bollenstreek.

"After some deliberation he agreed to keeping goal next Saturday against Jodan Boys. We assume that it is basically only for one game. We are thrilled that Edwin wants to help us in this way."
