The authorities in Lagos state have arrested over ten people for
violating the anti street-hawking law. The law prohibits hawking on
Lagos streets and roads.
The hawkers were arrested in Maryland, Oshodi, Ikeja, and Ojota areas of the state by Kick Against Indiscipline, KAI officials on Monday.
The KAIMarshal General, Mr. Amusat Jimoh, said the arrested offenders would be prosecuted.
This is in line with Section One of the Lagos State State Street Trading and Illegal Market Prohibition Law 2003, which restricts street trading and hawking in the metropolis, he said.
