Klopp: We are not in perfect shape... but it's not so bad

Jurgen Klopp says Liverpool are not in "perfect shape" and expects a difficult test against Tottenham at White Hart Lane on Saturday.

"Of course I've not had time to put a stamp on the team but it’s not a problem," he told BT Sport minutes before kick-off. "We should have the chance to work together a little bit longer but now we cannot wait until we are ready.

"We are not in perfect shape today but it is not so bad. It’s a little bit of a strange position, with 12 points. Not the situation normally you’d change the manager.

"That’s enough confidence in this moment. It’s not a very easy situation but we don’t think too much about this, when we are together we don’t think about this, absolutely nil. We only work together, exercise together, at the moment it’s enough.

"We know we play against a really good team, very experienced coach, very good manager. It’s difficult for us today. We don’t want to play how he expects us to play. We want to be active, we want to show we are ready to change the way a little bit.

"It’s always, you can see it in the eyes, it’s small things. In the end we have to give up our football, we have to start with our thinking. Now we have to see.

"This game gives us more information than training. It’s important and we want to show that we are not just here for the first match of the new Liverpool coach."
